Q: Is the magnetic sensor normally open or normally closed? (does the proximity open the switch or close it?).

Ello_ The magnetic sensor is always on. As a switch, its position can be changed.

After receiving the unit, I installed the app on my phone after scanning the bar-code on the card as well as accessing the instructions on the same card as a link from another bar-code. The unit installed and was easy to link once I adjusted my phone to link to the opener. The only issue I had was when I connected to Alexa, it sees this item as a switch and not a garage door opener or momentary switch. Alexa runs it by telling to "turn off Garage Door", which runs the door up as well as down. It seems a strange anomonly, but seems to work very well. If anyone knows how to compensate for this issue, let me know. I actually bought two for my garage and my father's as well. I have had it for a week now, and have had no issues with it so far.
