    Useful and convenient: I personally use it to avoid the encumbrance of the amplifier during study, but the fact of being able to convert the signal from unbalanced to balanced by replacing the DI is a significant plus. I'm not crazy about the distortion effect (but I also have to say that I play bass... probably with a guitar the result would be better).
