Losing power is not an issue with the supplied battery. Having an old usb phone charger handy (check your disused electronics drawer. We all have one...) as the clock doesn't have a power supply (this is stated in the description, so no surprises). 5v 1A (1000ma) works fine. The temperature display is accurate to others in the house. I have no intention on testing the alarm or timer. The clock is fine for it's purpose.
