I purchased both sizes. Thes are foldable using the 3s tent principle so that the travel size is 1/3 of the unfolded (see the picture). Built quality is absolutely correct. I use it with the Nikon SB-700. the velcro band takes care of the attachement to the speedlight. Generally the 40cm size seems to me more appropriate.
