I use 2.5mm DC plugs on almost all my projects, combined with a 10-30v DC-DC regulator to make it more versatile. I even made a 2.5mm male socket with banana plugs on the other side, making it easy and quick to plug into my bench supply. Included is a photo with the 2.5mm socket installed with my favourite XL6009 DC-DC Regulator.
