Model looks very nice, foam feels durable and the finish looks good. The foam parts fit well and went together easily. The optional tails is an added bonus so you can configure it with a traditional tail or as a Vtail, pick your flavor. The servo covers are a nice touch and looks great, so are the esc covers and GPS covers. Ball links are a nice hardware to have for the control surfaces. Wings feel very sturdy with the spars, the connectors for securing the wing onto the motor panel is great, easy to disassemble if you want to. The foam hatches fit well and magnets feel very strong and will keep it secure. Lots to like about this pnp model. Made some modifications to the tail section before gluing it together; cut a small section of foam away to allow the servo connector to pass under the plywood servo mount for the rudder easier, cut away some foam on the tail section to allow easier replacement of the rudder servo if needed. The motor and escs looks to be sufficient and well made. Mine did not come with any bullet connectors, you can direct solder them as well. I believe there is a programmer for the flycolor escs available, and it seems you can change motor direction via stick commands, but having bullet connectors just simplifies the process. I had to enlarge the fpv camera hole a little to fit my Foxeer Trex Micro cam. Not sure of a cover for the nose is supposed to come with the model but mine didn't have one, if you dont run a go pro or similar it would be nice to have a cover included. I find the ball links seem a bit weak and that that the links can pop off a little easier than I am comfortable with, coming from flying rc helis. The control rods were a bit too long and had to remove some material at the threaded end. Cutting them allowed me to shorten the overall length without the threaded rod pushing through the plastic ball links and hitting the brass ball. Overall a very good model, lots of room, nice foam, reasonably priced.

Q: Will this work with an OmnibusF4 and betaflight?

Asked by molokaiboy on 2019-01-18 04:26:03

luckygaz it does work very well, you have to set baud at 9600 in betaflight. others will not work even its configured with ublox. load default config in ublox and setup your satellite preferences. cold start aprox 1.5min, warm start 10-15seconds. will order a second one. (hobbywing xrotor G1 / Omnibusf4)

I finally decided to buy this model when the price dropped and I am so glad I bought it. I ordered from the UA warehouse and got it quickly and with reasonable shipping to Hawaii. Model was packaged well with no damage to the contents. I only used the stock motors and 2 of the servos which are used for flaps, which by the way is not really needed. I did not use the included wing connectors and just used servo extensions and wired my escs directly to my FC since I also did not use the included pdb. I used some emax MG servos and some 40A xilo escs as the stock escs are quite small and only 30a. Model went to together well and fit nicely. Lots of precut sections in the foam for wires from the wings to the fuse. There is so much room in the fuse it's crazy! The downside is, in my opinion is although there is tons of space for batteries, inside the fuse is tall but a bit narrow especially for my 21700 cells. A few more slots for battery straps would be nice to accommodate various battery sizes and placement for getting CG right. The twin vertical stabilizers are pretty flimsy so I added some CF rods at an angle to add better support which keeps it from flexing. I installed a Matek H743w v2 running inav. I use a 4s2p 8400 li-ion battery and with the stock motors and props it has a lot of thrust and launched are very easy. Dry weight is approximately 990g, with a 4s2p pack with 21700 molicels the AUW is 1574g. on this set up I managed a 74min flight cruising around. Love the cf support for the control surfaces and cf control horns. The included control rods and ball links are very good and fits well. I did cut a small section from the wooden flap servo mount to make it easier to route the servo wires and makes replacing the servo easier. Overall I really have been enjoying this model and will soon do some mid to long range cruising. So far one of favorite models. https://youtu.be/06WLOI9Xl1Q

Q: Does this support gps

Asked by BG183244916 on 2020-05-05 01:32:27

molokaiboy I have the full mamba f405 f50 dji stack and use gps in two quads. I had issues in the beginning with the gos but that was to mislabeling of the uarts in the manual which I believe has been updated.
