I thought this would be more useful than it is but that is my misconception. It does work much better than just a flashlight which always ends up blocking my view. This is essentially still just a small flashlight but the curved tube tips allow you to hold the body of the light out of the way so it doesn't blocked your view of what you are shining the light on.

There is a lot of variety here. A couple of these tensioners are so useful they are in my EDC kit, some locks I just couldn't open without them.

The tip is just crimped on. It broke off the first time I used it. Will need to be brazed onto the end of the rod.
