This was an upgrade from entry level pencil-style irons. It was a huge upgrade - Making clean joints is much easier. Important tip: I see a lot of people on YouTube getting errors when they turn on their unit. I determined that the proper way to install the tip is not obvious. The tip cannot be inserted directly; unscrew the sleeve, remove it, insert the tip, and screw the sleeve back on. Problem solved.
