connected to 5v, ground, pin 40/gpio21 (data), pin 35/gpio19 (lrclock) and pin 12/gpio18 (bitclock) UNLIKE the information in the article bitclock and data are NOT switched. so connect bitclock to bitclock and data to data-out on the pi. excelent value for the price.
