None of the adapters that come with the timer accommodate typical U.S. 3/4" hose thread. One can screw the supplied straight (not tapered) 3/4" FPT at the inlet onto a typical U.S. 3/4" MHT spigot, but it will leak. Likewise one can screw a 3/4" FHT onto the supplied straight (not tapered) 3/4" MPT at the outlet, but that also will leak. The necessary FHT - MPT and FPT - MHT adapters are likely to cost at least half as much as the timer. I was surprised that the timer does not employ a rotating ball valve, but a latching solenoid valve. I bought these timers because the description stated "ball valve". Because of inherent restriction in the type of valve actually used, I'm not sure it will work as well with unfiltered water as rotating ball valve timers that I have used.
