After some initial troubles it works fine. To upload via serial you have to connect gpio0 to gnd and reset. After upload undo gpio0 and reset again. This is hard to understand initially. I use the arduino "esp32 camerawebserver" example code. Be sure to use "#define CAMERA_MODEL_AI_THINKER" and undefine the others. It works fine. Happy with it.
