I use cotton wheels in my bench buffer. This is the first time I try the wool felt wheels. After receiving this item, I immediately put it to work. I had to enlarge the center hole (10mm) to 1/2" to fit my bench buffer. It is very easy by drilling the center with a 1/2" bit. The wool felt wheel is much harder than the typical cotton wheel. This wool felt wheel does a good job of cleaning and polishing bare steels such as gardening tools. I would hesitate to use it on soft metal. After two days of heavy use, this wool felt wheel does not wear out at all. I know it will last long. This is a good addition to my collection of polishing wheels. I will buy again if needed.
