I was expecting a bit more of this unit, I like it but could've been much better. The indoor unit looks great, with a lot of informations that are pretty well layout, good thing is it comes with a cable witch you can plug in into a propper wall wart that has a 5V an 1A usb port (there is no wall wart in the box). I did not connected it to the internet and because of this I don't have weather forecasting, I was hopping because of a lot of sensors it would do a basic forcast without internet. Another feature that I would've like was minimum and maximum temperatures in the last 24 hours displayed, but you can get this information if you cycle through some options. I like that it has 3 setable background light intensity when plugged in, I keep it on minimum and it sort of has a proximity button on the top and if you touch the unit on the top it comes on with max brighnest. The outside unit is almost ok, it is specified in the manual that itt will not survive extreme weather, I can confirm this, itt looks a bit flimsy. The mounting sistem could've been made a bit smarter to permit more mounting positions/options. A problem is with the packaging personal, the outside unit was forced into de packaging, as a consequence one of the cups on the anemometer is damaged, see picture. I did not try to straighten it because I would risc to brake it altogether. The wind direction finder on the outside unit is not balanced, thus if is a very light breeze will not indicate correctly, and finally the pluviometer cup has some fine filter that I am sure will get clogged up quickly so I recomand placing the unit in such a way that you can clean it often.

The product is well constructed and the display is easy to read. The app is fairly useless and doesn't download data well if at all. For a quick check on current readings, it is fine. If you want to use this weather station to connect to external weather systems such as Weather Underground or use it to feed data to a lawn watering system (as I want to do) it simply is not set up to do that at all. To be fair, it never claimed to have this function. It would be relatively simple to add this feature to the wifi panel as the wifi function is there and not on the outside base unit which broadcasts on 433Mhz. That said I have ordered a 433Mhz receiver to connect to a Raspberry Pi to read the data and will use Home Assistant to record the data and connect to external systems. Most systems these days have built-in compatibility to weather underground so not having this is a problem. It also has functions to receive data from two other sensors (possibly 3 but I can't see how you can figure that out) but this is not described at all as what is compatible. I am assuming the Blitzwolf temp/humidity 433 Mhz devices are compatible but this is a large assumption and these devices don't state compatibility at all either. It is also unknown how the actual manufacturer is for these devices which would go a long way to making this easier to use so the actual data protocol can be determined without having to hack the data. It isn't a huge problem and represents an opportunity to learn data analysis of 433Mhz devices if you are into that kind of thing.

Installation using Wifi is a bit tricky. It seems not to accept a guest Wlan. Using the base station without power supply by USB will also disable Wifi completely. But the base station seems to accept Nimh batteries. It works if the voltage is above 2,4V on the two batteries. Its powerconsumption using batteries is 6mA in Standby mode and 12mA when display is on. So normal alkaline batteries must be changed around every two weeks. In Battery mode the display is not as bright as it is when using USB power input. Powerconsumption then is between 80mA and 120mA. The app is not my favourite. Most display field is unused and e.g. wind info text is so small types that I need glasses for reading it.

Looks nice , works well . A bit anoying that even when you have batteries in indoor unit , you need to connect indoor unit to external USB power supply before you can pair station with your wifi and mobile app and there is no mention about it in instructions. Indoor units lights stays on all the time when it is connected to ext. power supply.
