The connectors "squeeze" a copper-berylium wiper on the inserted wire. Good connection. The insertion depth is rather deep compared to other vendors. It takes a very strong pull to open the orange plate. I have to use a small flat bladed screw driver to do it. Make sure to push screw driver blade deep into opening otherwise you can brake the orange handle. All the connections are COMMON connection. It is easy to put silicon caulk on the unit to make connections waterproof. I have used 15 amps but spec says it can handle 35 amps.
