There seems to be an awful lot of confusion regarding the power rating and current draw of this strip, probably because the item description was wrong at some point (it once said 120W). The reviews mentioning 20-30W aren't correct either. I bought a number of these strips, tested them with a lab power supply and here's what I learned: If you leave it in one 5M piece and only feed in power at one end of the strip, it'll draw 2.2A, for a power consumption of 26.4W, but that's because there's a significant voltage drop across the strip (12.0V going in, 9.3V at the other end). The current draw is lower than expected because the far end of the strip is running at under 10V. That's a pretty common issue with flexible LED strips, because the copper traces inside are fairly thin, and LEDs have a pretty steep voltage vs. current curve. If you cut it apart, a 1m section of this strip will draw 920 mA, or 11W per meter, which would give us 4.6A or 55W for the whole strip. Looking at the resistors also confirms this: The voltage drop across the LEDs is 3 x 3.4V per section, and there is a single 39 Ohm resistor in series for each section. According to Ohms law each 5cm section is running at (12.0 - 10.2) V / 39 Ohm = 46mA. The strip has 100 sections, so that's 4.6A in total, and 4.6A * 12.0V is 55 Watts. If you feed in in power at one end, it's only going to draw 26W, and the far end of the strip will be dimmer. If you feed in power at both ends, you're going to get fairly even brightness and a power consumption of about 45W. If you feed in power at both ends + the center of the strip, or if you cut it into smaller sections, it's going to draw almost exactly 4.6A/55W. With that out of the way, I'm very happy with these strips. The light output is good, the color of the warm white version isn't too yellow to my eyes, and all my strips were straight. Sometimes when you buy LED strips on a reel they can be quite wavy, but these are fine. I'm deducting one star for quality because the adhesive backing is pretty weak. It's alright on some surfaces if you press it down with quite a bit of force, but it's probably a better idea to add your own double-sided tape. Wouldn't trust it to hold the strips up in the long terms.

I have bought the bright white one. My bedroom is really dark and I will use this strip to wake me up. I guess I won't need the whole strip for that purpose because it is so bright. But I have plenty ideas where to use the rest of the strip, for example as illumination for my whiteboard. On my PSU I mesured the Strip draws ~30W, but my mesurement is inaccurate. Expect it to draw more, but not 120W as stated. So even better than I thought.

5m Cable draws only 1A@12V=12W. In description is 30W/5m - wrong description or fake? in compare with old 5050 LED chip less power consumption with comparable light power. in compare with old 5050 LED is the light a little bit warmer. Do not await 3000 lumens/5m Cable as in description! but for $4 ...... On Picture is comparison LED5630 with LED5050

package is well packed, or is such that there is no problem and that is thrown away, because there is no risk.
